Today, Barak Obama becomes the first American president to visit Hiroshima, Japan. His visit is part of a weeklong visit to Asia. Bill and Ann Moore, Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) mission co-workers worked in Hiroshima seven of their 30 years serving in Japan, giving them a unique view on the President’s historic trip.
A growing number of Christian organizations are coming forward in support of the recent nuclear agreement with Iran, which was negotiated by China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, the United States and Germany. Christian leaders are urging members of Congress to support it when it comes up for a vote in the coming weeks.
Church organizations on both sides of the Atlantic are urging NATO to remove all United States nuclear weapons still based in Europe and end their role in the alliance’s policy.
