On May 16, Davidson (N.C.) College will award an honorary doctorate to Frank Dimmock.
He will be recognized for his 25 years of PC(USA) mission service dedicated mainly to Africa's children. He is a much sought after participant and speaker at international conferences on HIV/AIDS affected and other vulnerable children. Dimmock and his wife, Nancy, are currently stationed in Lesotho.
On the same day the Dimmocks' daughter, Jessica, will receive her undergraduate degree from Davidson.

The Rev. Philip W. Butin, who concludes eight years of service as president of San Francisco Theological Seminary on Jan. 31, and his wife, The Rev. Jan Butin, have accepted a call to serve as co-pastors of the First United Presbyterian Church of Fayetteville, Ark.
A farewell reception in the Butins’ honor is scheduled for Feb. 7, at 7:30 p.m. in Alexander Hall on the San Anselmo campus of SFTS.
The Butins are scheduled to begin serving First United Presbyterian Church on March 1.

Margaret Montgomery, who devoted much of her life to the Presbyterian Church’s refugee resettlement ministry, died of cancer Jan. 11 at her Decatur, Ga., home. She was 88.
A native of LaGrange, Ill., Montgomery grew up in Texas, graduating from the University of Texas and then the Presbyterian School of Christian Education in Richmond, Va. She served as a Christian educator in churches in Texas before marrying J. Howard Montgomery in 1949. She then served for 10 years as director of alumni relations, communications and public relations at PSCE for 10 years.
